STU Tommies Men’s Volleyball Signs Canada Games Setter for 2026–27 Season
Fredericton, NB - The St. Thomas University (STU) Men’s Volleyball program is proud to announce the signing of Jeff Pinsent, a 6-foot-2 setter from Newfoundland and Labrador, for the 2026–27 Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) season.
A product of Mount Pearl Senior High, he has also competed with CBS 18U on the club circuit and represented Team Newfoundland and Labrador at the Canada Games, gaining valuable experience on the national stage.
During his provincial career, he established himself as one of the top setters in the region. He served as the starting setter for Team NL at the Canada Games and earned Tournament All-Star honours at both the 17U and 18U provincial championships.
“He’s a composed and confident setter with experience at the Canada Games level," said STU head coach Henri Mallet. "He understands tempo, decision-making, and how to put hitters in positions to succeed. His competitiveness will be a big addition to our group.”
Known for his energy and on-court presence, he is expected to make an immediate impact in Fredericton.
“My goal is to bring everything I can to help this team compete for a national championship,” he said. “I take pride in bringing energy and confidence every time I step on the court.”
The Tommies look forward to welcoming him to campus ahead of the 2026–27 season.
